See the true condition of your property back home.

From far away, you only see what you’re sent.
Owning property back home while you work abroad means seeing it through someone else’s phone. Most people looking after a place are doing their best. Still, the same stories come up again and again in diaspora groups.
Progress photos that don’t add up
You’re told the slab is done. The photo could be from last month, or from a different site, and there’s no way to tell from abroad.
Repairs you never get to see
A new pump, a fixed tank, a patched roof. You send the money, but you never see the before or the after.
Questions that are hard to ask
Asking a brother, an aunt or a caretaker “is that photo really from today?” can sound like an accusation. So most people just don’t ask.
Truhali gives you a neutral, dated record from someone with no stake in the answer. You see the true condition for yourself, and nobody has to feel accused.
Four steps, and you pay at the end.

Say hello on WhatsApp
Tell me the town and what’s there: a plot, a build or a house. Then we have a free 10-minute video call, so you can see who you’re dealing with.
-
Pick a Saturday and a code word
On Friday evening, send any everyday word (“mango”, “Arsenal”) and the location pin. If someone lives or works there, I’ll give you a short message to forward to them.
-
The visit
Saturday, 10:00 to 13:00 Kenya time. I photograph from fixed points, read the meters, and say your code word, the date and the time on video as I arrive and as I leave.
-
Your report, then you pay
You get a PDF within 48 hours. Look through it first. Then you pay within 48 hours of receiving it.
Want to be there, from abroad? If you’re in the UK, Europe or the Gulf, you can join a live video walk-through on the day. In the US it’s the middle of the night, so you get the videos instead.
A dated record you can see for yourself.
Every visit follows the same checklist, so next month’s report can be compared with this one.
Photos from fixed points
The gate, every outside wall, the roof line, compound, water tank, meters, drainage and boundary. Taken from the same spots each time, each one dated and timed.
Arrival and departure code-word videos
Two short videos where your code word, the date and the time are said out loud. An old video can’t contain a word you chose this week.
Meter readings
Electricity and water readings where the meters can be reached, with a clear photo of each so you can read it yourself.
A plain list of issues
What was seen, where it is and how big, each marked OK, Needs attention, Urgent or Not accessible. No guesses about causes, costs or blame.
Same place, same day
The report shows that the photos were taken together at one location, without printing the coordinates. Faces and number plates are kept out.
One PDF within 48 hours
Easy to read on your phone, forward to whoever you choose, and keep for next time.
Visual observation only: not a valuation, survey, certificate or recommendation to pay.

The sample report is on its way
It’s a demo report from a test visit to a property whose owner agreed to it being shown, with anything that could identify the place removed. It’s being put together now.
Ask for it on WhatsAppWhat’s inside every report

Hi, I’m Jose.
I live in Nairobi, and I started Truhali for Kenyans abroad who want to see their property for themselves.
I’d rather be straight with you: Truhali is brand new. It’s one person, working on Saturdays, in a test phase. There’s no office, no team and no reviews yet, and I won’t pretend otherwise.
In Nairobi and Kiambu, I do every visit myself. In Nyeri, Naivasha and Nakuru, the visit is done by a person I know personally, using the same checklist, and I put the report together.
That’s why you pay only after you’ve seen your first report. You shouldn’t have to trust a stranger with money upfront. Ask me anything on a free 10-minute video call.

Questions you might have
How do I know you’re not a scammer?
Fair question, and you should ask it. You don’t pay anything until you’ve seen your first report, so trying it costs you nothing upfront.
I never ask for money in advance, and never for building money, rent, keys, your ID, your title deed or your LR number. On the free 10-minute video call you see who you’re dealing with, and the M-Pesa name on your invoice is the person you spoke to. Truhali has one WhatsApp number: +254 794 393 337. If anyone else contacts you claiming to be Truhali, it isn’t me.
My brother (or caretaker) already handles it. Why would I need this?
That’s how most people do it, and most relatives and caretakers are doing their best. This isn’t about suspicion. A neutral, dated record helps them too: if a question ever comes up, the photos answer it, not an argument.
You can tell the person on site first, and they’re welcome to be there. For an empty plot or a build site, the from-the-road Baseline means nobody on site needs to be involved at all.
Why is it so cheap?
It’s one person on Saturdays, with no office, delivering dated photos and a plain written list. It is not a valuation and not a building survey, which is why it costs USD 45 and not KES 20,000 or more.
If I see something worth a professional opinion, the report says so, and you can ask a qualified fundi or specialist about it.
Will you tell me what it’s worth, or if it’s built properly?
No. It’s visual observation only: not a valuation, survey, certificate, building supervision or a recommendation to pay anyone. I describe what I can see, where it is and roughly how big it is.
I don’t give causes, costs or safety verdicts, I don’t say who is to blame, and I don’t check boundaries or beacons.
Do you go inside?
Only when the property is empty or under your control, and someone you choose opens up and stays with me. I don’t go inside a home where a tenant or a relative lives. There I photograph the outside, the compound and the meters only.
Inside or out, I don’t open, move or touch anything, and I never climb or lift covers.
What if someone on site refuses access?
I leave straight away. I never argue or take sides. I photograph whatever is visible from the road and note in the report that access was refused, recording the person’s role (for example “caretaker”), never their name. You pay half price for that visit.
How do I pay from the UK, the US or the Gulf?
After you’ve seen your report, send the amount to M-Pesa with an app that sends to M-Pesa. Wise and Taptap Send both do. The M-Pesa number and the name that will show are on your invoice, and only there. You have 48 hours, and I confirm as soon as the payment arrives.
If anyone asks you to pay a different number or a different name, don’t.
What about privacy?
No faces, children or number plates in any photo. Your report confirms the photos were taken in one place without printing the coordinates. Your property never appears in posts, ads or samples, and I never need your ID, title deed or LR number.
Photos are deleted 90 days after your report (on the Monthly Check, they’re kept while you stay). Ask, and I’ll delete everything sooner. The full details are in the privacy notice.
Can I join the visit live?
Yes, if you’re in the UK, Europe or the Gulf. Visits run on Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00 Kenya time. That’s 08:00 to 11:00 in the UK until 25 October, then 07:00 to 10:00, and 11:00 to 14:00 in the UAE. In the US it’s the middle of the night, so you get the videos instead.
WhatsApp video works from most countries. From the UAE, the call is on Zoom or Google Meet.
Are there properties you don’t take?
Yes: anything involved in a dispute, a sale, an inheritance case or a divorce; a home where the people living there haven’t agreed; and anywhere I can’t reach with someone I trust.
On the video call I ask you to show me (not send) one document with your name on the property, with the numbers covered. That way nobody can book a visit to your plot pretending to be you.
See it for yourself.
Message on WhatsApp with the town and what’s there: a plot, a build or a house. I reply personally, usually within a few hours (Kenya time).
You pay nothing until you’ve seen your first report.
